3 Post Day Yesterday

Yes yesterday was a Massive day on this very BLOG, the second and top end of my 200 best songs of 2014 were revealed, my Male Album of the Year announced and well done to Mr Mark Ronson, he is the first album of the year nominated act for 2015.

Can I just say how excited I was for 6 of my 10 Hottest 100 songs of 2014 to make the list. I have to say I was so bored of all the Taylor Swift should have made the countdown commentary last night. Man Taylor Swift has a place, that's called lame ass commercial radio. Triple J is for the underdogs the acts who get little play on 2DAY FM (despite no one listening now Vile Kyle & Jackie Ho have left), Nova & Kiis FM, the acts who still play small pubs and the new acts being discovered all over Triple J Unearthed.

Tomorrow - this week's album of the year will take over, a new Summer music list will get published on Sunday and it's the countdown to Laneway - HELL FUCK YEAH!

Album of the Year Nomination #1 - Mark Ronson - Uptown Special

Hit after hit and the record only hit the shelves a wee minute ago, Mark Ronson is a pure genius, a super producer is an understatement. To say this man has released three previous solid albums and now his best and most danceable effort to date is this posts understatement.

I loved "Uptown Funk" the first time I heard it on JJJ and loved Bruno Mars getting his SEXY on. What a track!

The he proved Kevin Parker is one funky, tripped out fellow.

Later revealing Msytikal can "Feel Right".

This album is solid gold, well done Mark Ronson and all your guests, you still have it in 2015 and this is the first Album of the Year Nomination for 2015. If this album is any sign of what we have to come in 2015 I'm excited!

Male Album of the Year 2014 - WINNER!

After Sia took out the BIG Album of the Year for 2014, it's time to focus on the Male Album of 2014. I had three albums in the running:

1. Pharrell Williams - G I R L
2. Vance Joy - Dream Your Life Away
3. Chet Faker - Built on Glass

And it's my great pleasure in announcing it's a double Australian best of 2014, Sia best overall album and the wonderful Chet Faker best Male Album of 2014.

Later today I will publish numbers 1-100 my second part of the best 200 songs of 2014 and tomorrow first thing it's a new year and my first album of the year nomination is ready for publishing.

It's a big day on the BLOG so keep checking back and let me know is Chet Faker your male album of 2014?

Living for Love | Living for Leaks

So Madonna has had a lot of press re: the leaked tracks and almost entire album, her upcoming album Rebel Heart. After listening to bits and pieces there really is only one song to be excited for, "Living for Love". But is the version I like the one that will make the final cut?

A new remix also surfaced this week and I am partial to a good remix, but is it better than what will make the release in March? Or will she chuck a Beyonce and just drop it overnight soon?

So many questions, back to the music I say.

This is what I think is the "real" version:

Here is the version I really like:

Here is hoping the above version makes the cut as the lead single and the one used on the album Rebel Heart when it gets a proper release.

More music news and feature album tracks soon....

The Outrage about Sia's latest music video is an OUTRAGE

Opinion piece time.

Sia has been given more publicity for her latest video "Elastic Heart" (song originally released on 1 Oct 2013) than her ARIA award winning album 1000 Forms of Fear.

The song was not my favourite when released as part of the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack but has since grown on me and I love Shia LaBeouf, so this music video and me were a match made in heaven.

As I write this post the video has currently been viewed over 25 million times. And now comes the shit part, the haters.

As Taylor Swift famously says haters gonna hate, but if you actively look for negative points in everything you will find something. And of course a young girl and controversy ridden LBeouf maybe don't go well, and near naked but pedophilia? Really people? Really?

I am horrified people can complain about this in a week where France has been rocked to it's core, a plane full of people are being pulled from the sea and it's a new year. Seriously people wake the FUCK up this is art and Sia is a perfect artists hence her crowning for Album of the Year for 2014.

Keep up the good work Sia, haters gonna hate and they may not be able to spell, construct an educated piece as to why this video offends them so just continue paying no mind.

Love ya work, Flashing off the Record xo
