Sunday Spotlight: Sarah McLeod

Three albums with South Australia's The Superjesus and a couple of solo albums Sarah McLeod is one of the nicest ladies in Australian music and also one of the queen's of the 90's.

The 1990's gave us strong female's like Janet English from Spiderbait and Happyland, Adalita from Magic Dirt and Katy Steele from Little Birdy.

The Superjesus gave us hits like Down Again, Gravity and Second Sun, Sarah made an impact on the dance scene maybe by accident with a remix by Hook n Sling of He Doesn't Love You.

It's great having Sarah back with a new solo album Rocky's Diner, it came out Friday and Sarah is back, touring and rocking hard. Love you Sarah, today's Sunday Spotlight.

Post Number 200 (2017)

It's been a long 2017 thus far, there have been some great EP's, excellent singles and up until now 2 sensational albums from 2017, Haim & Kendrick Lamar. They both have earnt an Album of the Year Nomination each. Not it's time for Album of the Year Nomination number three.

All the way across the ditch in NZ, it's Lorde's second effort, Melodrama.

Green Light arguably is one of the biggest songs of 2017 (next to Kendrick's dope anthem HUMBLE.) and her second album is full of wonderful bright pop with equally fantastic lyrics.

We have seen two official singles, two promo singles and my latest track Homemade Dynamite has single written all over it.

Critically a hit, commercially topping charts here in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA.

Lorde has commenced her worldwide tour in Canada and make her way to Australia in November to bring on the Summer season. The tour's set list is littered with hits, her Disclosure track Magnets and a cover of Martha Wainwright's terrific Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole.

Of course the set ends with Green Light and commences currently with the perfect Tennis Court.

Lorde is an all star and deserves this nomination super hard. Well done Lorde and you join Haim and Kendrick Lamar in the race for the Album of 2017.

Sunday Spotlight: Dan Sultan

Three albums in Dan Sultan recently gave us Killer and also recently popped up on that terrific A.B Original track January 26.

Hailing from Victoria and won Best Male Artist at the 2010 ARIA Music Awards, Dan Sultan has also appeared alongside the fab Missy Higgins and Jessica Mauboy in Bran Nu Dae.

Dan Sultan delivers soulful music with a strong message, his distinct voice is sexy and smooth and at 34 I look forward to many more records from this Aussie legend!

Here is a Sunday night taste of what musical gems Sultan has given us since his debut record Homemade Biscuits in 2006.
