Sunday Spotlight: 360

Born three days earlier than me, four years later, it's Melbourne MC 360 AKA Matthew James Colwell, born 12 July 1986.

Thanks Wikipedia.

Four albums in (Vintage Modern was released Friday) 360 is still one of Australia's most popular MC's. ARIA Award winning (back in 2012) and owner of two Top 20 singles and two Top 5 albums, it's exciting to feature 360 today as one of the final Sunday Spotlights for 2017.

Working with loads of exciting artists across his four studio records he has teamed up with Pez, Daniel Johns, Gossling, Josh Pyke and more.

LEt's take some time to get familiar with 360's new record as well as some instant classics in the Aussie hip hop genre.

Next Week's Album of the Week | GEORGE MAPLE | ReMiXeD

I'm unveiling next weeks feature record a little early this time around. I'm unveiling it a little early with a bag full of remixes of tracks from the album.

George Maple has been around for sometime now, I remember when I first heard Talk Talk (later remixed and charting thanks to DJ Snake) I knew we had a star. Now it's time after a number of collaborations, singles and tracks here and there for a full sexy as fuck body of work.

Let's enjoy the remix before next week we get into the real deal.

Album on the shelves and online tomorrow plus the feature record from Monday!

Coming a little early this week, but with some top notch releases coming out, early bird gets the worm.

360 has been a way for a wee while so it's great he is back with a whole stack of guests on board. 360 will also be this Sunday's spotlight artist.

Wow Weezer are back with a new record and here is a cut from the album ahead of it's release on Friday.

Look out for a special post around the remixes behind George Maple's long awaited debut long player tomorrow, but here is an album cut from Lover.

Sunday Spotlight: Marilyn Manson

Since 1994 Marilyn Manson has been raising hell, his music has been controversial and so indeed is Mr Manson himself.

Manson has recently released his 10th studio record Heaven Upside Down and recently had an accident whilst touring.

I remember seeing Manson live at a Big Day Out around the time of the more pop record Mechanical Animals in 1998.

I first discovered the anti Christ via a friend and his breakout hit Beautiful People, so on a usually religious Sunday lets hear a different point of view, Mr Manson's.

Out on the Shelves... Tomorrow

His back, Beck returns with Colors and it may be this blog's feature record all next weekend. Tune in next Monday morning to find out.

What happens when Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile and got together, sweet music that's what.

Twenty years ago I was listen to Green Day's Nimrod, it was a brilliant record back in the day and holds up to the test of time. Green Day's American Idiot musical will also make it's way to Sydney and other capital cities early 2018.

Also out tomorrow, Lenka has a new record and her is the cut, Heal.

Have you hear Dolly Parton on Miley's new album Younger? Well she has her own new album out tomorrow. Go Dolly, still one of the best live acts I have ever seen. Great stuff.

Talent local Wafia is set to release another stunning EP tomorrow, it features Bodies.

Another exceptional Australian release lands tomorrow, it is new music from Slum Sociable.

Sunday Spotlight: Macklemore

After the NRL grand final drama, Macklemore has proved his not just a musical superstar but he believes in everyone being treated equally. He also kicks hard against the old white pricks, which as Australians unfortunately we have to put up with.

Thrift Shop, Same Love, Can't Hold Us, Downtown and now his solo record Gemini, Macklemore is on top of his game.

If you haven't heard any of these tracks you must have been living under a rock. Macklemore is set to visit Australia to promote his new record which already has two certified hits.

Let's keep the Saturday party vibes going with some of Macklemore's biggest hits..
