Sunday Spotlight: Robyn

Her first album was released in 1995, Swedish pop powerhouse Robyn is back with Honey!

38 singles, 7 studio albums, 5 EP's later Honey was released on Friday. After teasing us with the title track and Missing You, we finally have all nine pop-tastic tracks on whatever music streaming service you use.

I loved her Body Talk series and can't believe all the artists she has worked with or written songs for, that includes Australia's own Peter Andre! Yes she wrote his track What is Love in 2004.

Robyn is pop music at it's best, she makes a real dance floor filler and I cannot tell you how many times I have had a long drive screaming the lyrics to Dancing on My Own.

Other than NAO (featured on my other blog, HERE) I cannot think of an artist more worthy of a feature right now. Robyn is officially the queen of pop right now! Enjoy the below and dance away your Sunday!

Out on the Shelves... Tomorrow | Preview

Oh god, it's time for the careers of David Campbell, Jessie J and John Legend's to end with these respective Christmas albums Baby It’s Christmas, This Christmas Day & A Legendary Christmas.

Samantha Jade recently released a very luke warm disco album, her next release is a Christmas album, career officially over. Full disclosure I saw her live the other week and honestly she knows how to work a diverse room, however musically a few more sound decisions are required if she is in deed going to be Australia's next Pop Princess.

Now to some of tomorrow's biggest releases..

Deep Sea Arcade – Blacklight

Gang Of Youths – MTV Unplugged : Live In Melbourne

Nao – Saturn (Sunday's Mini Profile - HERE)

Robyn – Honey (Sunday's Spotlight - right here!)

Thom Yorke – Suspiria (Music For The Luca Guadagnino Film)

Black Eyed Peas – Masters Of The Sun

E^st – Life Isn’t Always Roses EP

Graace – Self Sabotage EP

Sunday Spotlight: Rufus Du Sol

Australian trio Rufus are back, this time as Rufus Du Sol. This Solace is their third studio record since 2013, following a couple of EP's in 2011 and 2012. This week the boys secured the Triple J album of the week.

They were due to be my feature next week, however something happened with Robyn's release Honey and I have done a swap. Tomorrow you get two exciting releases as the Releases of the week. A MixTape and and EP.

Now onto Rufus Du Sol, ARIA and AIR award winning crew from Sydney they are up for two ARIA's this year with No Place. Unfortunately the Dance Release category is extremely crowded with talent this year, PNAU, Alison Wonderland, Peking Duk, newcomer Fisher and of course Rufus Du Sol.

Solace has already had three hits from the nine track releases, so overall a great strike rate thus far.

Always a festival and live music favourite, Rufus Du Sol have a strong and solid fanbase, so here is to the future, international acclaim. Take a Sunday to embrace the brilliant Sydney trio, for me I am off to Cher tonight, If I Could Turn Back Time, LOL, bye.

Post Malone & Swae Lee team up for Sunflower, it's out now and pretty dope. Even without the dreadlocks Post Malone is still kicking some musical goals.

Nothing But Thieves released a new EP yesterday, What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way. Here is a taste from it now.

I liked this, it's another EP, this time from Jessie Reyez, Being Human In Public. Take a listen anywhere you stream your tunes...

Troye Sivan is having a huge 2018. He deserves an ARIA or two this November and now he teams up with Jónsi for Revelation from the hugely anticipated film Boy Erased. Troye has worked with Ms Ariana Grande and Gordi this year on Bloom. The boy can really do no wrong!

Finally next week I will feature a Mixtape and an EP. Swick gave us Court Composer Mixtape yesterday and Khalid gave us a 7 track EP Suncity. Both will get equal coverage next week as we celebrate some of the best local and international tunes.
