Headlining Soundwave 2014 Green Day are making their way down to Australia really soon, do you remember how they used sound prior to the breakthrough "American Idiot" album:


Let's just hope when they are down under they play some old favourites too. Tomorrow is the final Friday Dance Off so get ready to move the coffee table aside and DANCE!

Hump Day Hit {John Newman - Cheating} (FINAL)

Hello all, it's the middle of the week and it's potentially the last time we will mark this with a hump day hit.  So today we look to our motherland to the soul of young John Newman. We first meet him with his vocals on the Album of the Year by Rudimental. He contributed his sweet, sweet vocals to the singles "Feel the Love" and "Not Giving In".

His debut solo single "Love Me Again" and this new single "Cheating" will be on his self titled debut album coming out in October.

So let's take a listen to "Cheating", it's fairly awesome.

So after last night, it's time to say goodbye to most of my theme days (I have a funny feeling I am in love with Throwback Thursdays) but today Elizabeth Rose put it down on this one:

So I have had a highly structured BLOG thus far and with the new season so comes some changes. So from it's inception to now the BLOG has been:

Tuesday - Tight Ass Tune Day
Wednesday - Hump Day Hit/Day Off
Thursday - Throwback Thursday
Friday - Friday Dance Off
Saturday - Saturday Soundtrack
Sunday - Countdown

So going forward some things are changing, no longer will each day focus on and be limited to a Throwback day etc, it's going to get a wee more random.

However Sunday's will continue to feature the hottest 20 hits of the week and Monday's in September I have some exciting Spring Music List's for y'all, here is a sneak peak:

Hump Day Hit {Empire of the Sun - DNA}

Today it's the second taste of the Empire of the Sun release "Ice on the Dune", it's "DNA".



The first single "Alive" was quiet the hit and this one is catchy as all hell. The album has taken me a few listens to enjoy, but now it's growing on me.

Three fat new entries this week and the best news about this is two of them are Aussie and one is from those amazing Swedish "I Love it" girls.

Aussie Hip Hop was a the winner with the biggest new entry this week from Melbourne's PEZ. His new track One Life has proved an instant smash, what do you think of it below?



Rufus the crew out of Sydney are dropping their amazing debut album on Friday and an early pre-order track "Sundream" seems to be popular on iTunes, so it is no surprise it drops in at #19.


Last but no least well done to Icona Pop for finally following up the over played and over used in current commercials slash TV promo's "I Love it". Man has that song copped a trashing, literally, it's been everywhere, from car ads to shonky promos for lame reality and non reality Aussie TV. But this right here, right now is "Girlfriend".

So we a wave of new talent shows hitting Australian TV's it's time for those awkward auditions, those superstar moments and then the reality of your career going nowhere. But their has been a competition since the mid to late 90's which has Unearthed some of today's best and most exciting Australian artists. So without much more chit chat and me complaining about the X Factor, the Voice, Australia's Got Talent & I must say Channel Ten well done on saying no to bringing back the Idol.
