Sunday Spotlight: Chemical Brothers

Starting commercially in 1991, The Chemical Brothers are the kings of dance. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons have released 8 albums (including 1 soundtrack (Hanna)) and will soon release their hotly anticipated 9th record again teaming up with Q-Tip for the chart smash "Go" and St Vincent on their latest single which dropped during the week.

Let's move the coffee table aside and cut a rug to some of the killer Chemical Brothers jams that have shaped dance music over the last few decades.

Born in the Echoes drops July 17.

Listen Out

So this festival is back, the replacement to Parklife and it's in debut year featured a list of my favourite iPOD friendly acts that year:

Disclosure
Azealia Banks
AlunaGeorge
Rufus

and many more. They backed that up in 2014 with the likes of Flume, Chet Faker, Golden Features and many other fine young talents. 2015 sees them put together another stellar line up (well done kids in the Fuzzy office) in a time music festivals are going nowhere, fast.

Tickets to this impressive festival hit the box office HERE today @ Noon, jump on it for this years best line up thus far, very impressed Listen Out folks, very.

Album of the Year Nomination #3 - Florence + the Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful

Joining the wonderful Kendrick Lamar and Mark Ronson is the divine and heavenly Florence + the Machine for album number 3, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. Peaking at Number One in Australia, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand and the UK, Florence and the Machine clearly have a hit on their hands.

Following "What Kind of Man", "Ship to Wreck", "Delilah" & "St. Jude" this album already feels like a best of release. Florence + the Machine are just divine and following on from the amazing Ceremonials and just brilliant debut Lungs, this just cements Florence + the Machine's position on top of the music ladder.

So now there are 3, the album of the year will be announced on Boxing Day 2015. On Australia Day 2016 I will announce the Australian Album of 2015, the 10 days prior to this I will shortlist around 10 Australian Albums of top shelf nature before publishing the biggest Aussie release of the year.

Florence + the Machine thank you for another truly magically album.
