Sunday Spotlight: The Black Keys

I can't believe it's now nine albums for the Akron, Ohio duo The Black Keys, on Friday they returned with "Let's Rock".

Following on from previous smash hits like Gold on the Ceiling, Lonely Boy, Tighten Up, Strange Times and Your Touch, the new album is 11 more radio friendly rock hits.

It's been a long five years since their 2014 record Turn Blue.

The duo love a tour this fine nation and I really hope the group come back, currently the gang just have North America dates on their site, however as a popular visitor I am sure we will see them in 2020. So weird saying 2020!

Anyway get into their new album below as well as some selected hits from their impressive back catalogue.

Sunday Spotlight: Jordan Rakei

At only 27, Jordan Rakei has already released three solid records, moved from NZ to Brisbane and now calls London home.

He has also appeared on a classic Disclosure record and from time to time releases music under Dan Kye.

Origin is the third record from Rakei following releases in 2016 and 2017 respectively. On a cold and wet day (at least in Sydney city) it's time to discover what the UK has already fallen in love with, Mr Jordan Rakei's smooth as vocals.

Stream the new record and discover more Jordan Rakei below. Until next week, if one talented ANZAC isn't enough, over on my other BLOG it's time for Hayden James (Mini) Sunday Spotlight.

Streaming Singles..

I gave you a wee preview of new releases incoming on Thursday, shame Madonna didn't give us the first song from her Madame X as I previously read. Oh well life goes on...

From that POP list of artist here is my quick review of what the tracks actually were like -

Katy Perry - She needs a miracle, again this song (Never Really Over) falls flat

Madonna - Didn't happen in the end, oh well after Future with Quavo and THAT Eurovision performance, I don't think anyone cares.

Cardi B - See for yourself below, it's called Press and I for one like this.

Miley Cyrus - Turns out it was more than a single!

Mark Ronson - hmmmmmm not sold on this new one with Camila Cabello.

King Princess - It's no Pussy is God but OK.

Charli XCX - with Diplo and Herve Pagez non the less, it's a Spice Girls homage. Spicy!

Now for some returns and new tracks, strap yo-self in!

Art vs Science – Zeus In The Architecture

Cardi B – Press

Rainbow Chan – Pillar

Craig David – When You Know What Love Is

King Princess – Cheap Queen

Tove Lo – Glad He’s Gone

Madeon – All My Friends

Mark Ronson featuring. Camila Cabello – Find You Again

Rosalia – Aute Cuture

A quick preview of some of the biggest releases coming Friday 7 June, the first releases of Winter 2019 -

Avicii – Tim (album)

Jonas Brothers – Happiness Begins (album)

Meg Mac – Hope (mini album, 7 or so songs)

Polish Club – Iguana (album)
