Fred Again.. at Laneway, Sydney

So the Guardian did an excellent recap of the Laneway Sydney leg moving from Rozelle to Sydney Olympic Park. Easily the biggest white elephant in Australia.

That just leaves me to talk Fred Again.. So if I went to a church on Sunday or cult like Hillsong or another 10% of my wages to a cause, I imagine the Sunday sessions to go like Fred Again.. mid evening with a killer set.

Yes I left not long after seeing him, yes I like Haim, but it was fucking Sunday night y'all!

So Fred Again.. Mate you are a damn legend. I saw great live music bring in 2023 with Confidence Man. Still they are my favourite, however Fred Again.. came close.

So to celebrate let's take in some of the biggest tunes he laid down on Sunday night.

EPIC set! So excited to check out For the Love in Wollongong in a few weeks. Also a FUCKING Sunday. Oh well, lucky I was smart, booked Monday off, learnt my lesson. It's Wednesday and I'm still dying. Plus I don't drink!

Hottest Reaction to the Hottest 100 (2022)

At least it wasn't another dumb ass Like a Version. Last year I really was pissed The Kid Laroi was bumped by... The Wiggles, however this year it was a repeat winner with a massive following, Flume.

With over a million Instagram followers, well over 1.5 million YouTube subscribers and 4 million views for the number one song with MAY-A, it's easy to see why Flume was number one with such a massive local and international fan base.

He topped the list back in 2017 with Never Be like You, with The Difference in 2020 also rolling in at number three.

Say Nothing for me is also a gym song featuring in a latest Body Pump and Les Mills Tone release. With the later in Tone making a special play at Les Mills Live Melbourne. So for me this song is all about fitness, fun and being around good people.

Overall a lot of the songs I voted for missed out in 2022. SZA's Shirt made it, however a number of the tunes I voted for even missed out on 200-101.

Even though it took a while to grow on me, I was super pumped B.O.T.A made it in at number two!

A much more enjoyable end to the countdown in 2022. Here is to the 2023 countdown. If you'd prefer to see my 100-1 list and 200-101 lists. Later.
