In 2013, Methyl Ethel released their debut EP, Guts whilst in 2015, Methyl Ethel released their debut album Oh Inhuman Spectacle.

In 2017, Methyl Ethel released their second album Everything Is Forgotten, the album peaked at number 16 on the ARIA charts.

Sunday Spotlight: Little Dragon

Easter 2017, Season Hight was released, back then I featured Little Dragon HERE.

After releasing singles like “Hold On” and “Are You Feeling Sad?” featuring Kali Uchis, Swedish group Little Dragon has now returned with their sixth record, New Me, Same Us.

11 tracks tunes clocking in at 44 minutes, New Me, Same Us sees vocalist Yukimi Nagano joins bandmates Håkan Wirenstarnd, Fredrik Wallin, and Erik Bodin.

I can't believe the group first popped up in 2006/2007. Little Dragon have copped a whole lot of play on my devices over the years.

I was obsessed with the tune Wildfire with SBTRKT back in 2011, since then Little Dragon have worked with Tinashe, Little Simz and Flying Lotus.

You can stream the while new album below, go back in time above and see where the group was at in 2017. Below some hits and highlights. The world we live in right now, we need groups like Little Dragon.

Next Sunday is Easter Sunday so there will be a delayed Sunday Spotlight. There will be an Easter Monday spotlight instead. Focused on Canadian crew Purity Ring. See you tomorrow for a brand new local feature album.

Album of the Year Nomination #3 - The Weeknd - After Hours

Coming in at number 71 in Triple J's Hottest 100 last year, The Weeknd's Blinding Lights was a huge success. The song was only released days (29 November) before voting opened, already the Triple J listeners had made up their mind, Blinding Lights was a hit!

Heartless was the first single from the album, followed by Blinding Lights and late last month single number three arrived, In Your Eyes.

The Weeknd has been a favourite in Australia for sometime now. His 2016 album Starboy was a huge hit whilst Beauty in the Madness (his second album) was a major breakthrough.

The Canadian superstar continues to slay. He has appeared live on a number of late night US shows with tracks from this album and topped the charts with the album in many countries thus far.

On Saturday the album made it to number one in Australia. Joining Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Sweden, the USA, The UK and of course Canada.

Joining Tame Impala and Halsey in the race for the 2020 Album of the Year, it's The Weeknd, with After Hours. Stream the album below and get amongst it!
