APRA Winners

Well done to VANCE JOY for RIPTIDE, song of the year, good job young man and #1 in the Hottest 100 last year. Smashing work for BIRDS OF TOKYO and their ace hit LANTERNS for the most played Australian Work whilst by no surprise JOHN BUTLER TRIO's ONLY ONE took out Blues & Roots work of the Year.

No surprise that FLUME took out the Dance Work of the Year with HOLDIN ON, Flume really is still on top of the dance game headlining this year's 2nd annual Listen Out Festival.

Double Whammy for BIRDS OF TOKYO scooping the Rock work of year again with the hit LANTERNS and VANCE JOY also scored Pop work of the Year for that tune RIPTIDE.

BLISS N ESO got some help from fellow Sydney folk BLUEJUICE for ACT YOUR AGE scoring them Urban work of the year, speaking of Urban that horrid (but well produced) jam BLURRED LINES took out International work of the Year. Pharrell really is having a cracker couple of years.

Most played work overseas went out to GOYTE with a wee bit of help from KIMBRA for that song SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW.

And finally no surprises for the Songwriter of the year, locally/internationally she is a steam train, I love her, I always have and always will. I'm talking about Miss SIA, I can't wait for 1000 Forms of Fear and I think this will be a really special release.

For a full list of winners give this a shot and stay tuned for more music news and countdowns all across the week and weekend here at Flashing off the Record.
