Australian music is SUPER healthy right about now

I am a regular reader of ARIA charts, UK singles and from time to time love to see what's making it big in the USA. However Saturday night I was super pumped to see three Australian albums 1, 2 & 3. And even better than just three Australian albums they are also all from Sydney. Let's take a quick peak at this week's high achieving records now:

1.

From Sydney's Northern Beaches via production from Rick Rubin it's Angus & Julia Stone. Their self titled third record heads straight to number one. Will their be another "Big Jet Plane" on this record?

2.

New Sydney Aussie super Hip Hop crew featuring members of Horrorshow, Spit Syndicate, Joyride & Jackie Onassis. Great effort from the crew at Elefant Traks. I am hoping for big things from this crew. Look out Hilltop Hoods and Bliss n Eso is all I can say.

3.

Sticky Fingers return with hits like "Gold Snafu" & "Just for You" on their new record "Land of Pleasure" and it debuts all the way up at number 3. Great effort from this local crew beating off the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and many more.

Also doing well & flying the old musical Australian flag are:

SIA - 1,000 Forms of Fear @ 18 (Also and Album of the Year Nomination)
360 - Utopia @ 24
Dan Sultan - Blackbird @ 31
Chet Faker - Built on Glass @ 32 (Also and Album of the Year Nomination)
Illy - Cinematic @ 46
Violent Soho - Hungry Ghost @ 48
