Sunday Spotlight: Luca Brasi
Luca Brasi hail from St Helens, Tasmania. Thomas Busby, Danny Flood, Patrick Marshall and Tyler Richardson form the group back in 2009.
Recently the group released their fifth studio album, Everything Is Tenuous. Last night when the ARIA top 50 album chart was published, Everything Is Tenuous debuted at number seven. Huge effort. This follows The Rubens (current feature album) debuting at number one, The Kid Laroi achieving gold sales status at number four whilst international megastars like Foo Fights, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles and The Weeknd dominate the remaining top seven spots.
Their previous albums include Extended Family (2011), By a Thread (2014), If This Is All We're Going to Be (2016) and Stay (2018).
Luca Brasi are currently signed to Cooking Vinyl Australia, whilst in the past (pre COVID) touring with the likes of Violent Soho, Pup, You Me at Six, Turnover and Pianos Become the Teeth.
The four piece have also performed at St Jerome's Laneway Festival, Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival. So this fine (warm in Sydney) Sunday discover a new Aussie talent. Continue to support the amazing Australian music scene. Right now, The Rubens, Amy Shark, The Kid Laroi, Tones and I and now Luca Brasi are slaying it, hard!

Sunday Spotlight: SIA
It's been a solid start to the year with Sunday Spotlights. This week lets celebrate a local legend, Sia. On the back of Music : Songs From And Inspired By The Motion Picture and the film which has a very limited release in Australia (now the US), Sia is back with new music and visuals to boot.
Together was one of the biggest songs in 2020, reaching number 27 in the year end Australian singles chart for that year. Sia is a prolific song writer as well as being one of the hardest working artists right now.
Giving us multiple new projects, whilst even creating a Christmas album I could listen to.
Sia is super exceptional. I have seen her live three times (yes the last time at the SFS (R.I.P SFS) was a disaster) however prior to this Sia's live show is amazing.
So it's a loved up Valentine's Day, summer is ending (in Australia), Lunar New Year is in full swing, so what better artist to lean into than Sia. She is a class act from Adelaide while being a total queen of pop.
From the old days of "Drink to Get Drunk (with Different Gear) to her first team ups with David Guetta, Sia has real staying power. I can't wait to see what Sia's next project will look like.

Sunday Spotlight: Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets on Friday gave us their fourth studio album SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound.
Hailing from Perth the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have spent the last few years consistently touring and selling out shows.
The group formed in 2014 in Perth, WA. PPC consists of Jack McEwan (guitar and vocals), Luke Parish (guitar), Danny Caddy (drums), Luke Reynolds (bass), and Chris Young (keyboard).
It's easy to compare the group to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Tame Impala, while the group themselves have self-described their sound as "an energetic mess of colour and tone".
Concerning the reasoning behind the name of the band? On their Triple J Unearthed profile page Jack McEwan states “I wanted something memorable like marmite – you either love it or you hate it,” laughs Jack.
So dive into their new record below, check them out on Unearthed or check out the in-depth piece on Triple J HERE. Until next week, bye-bye.
