Alexander Crossan or commonly referred to as Mura Masa, is a Guernsey-born electronic music producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Mura Masa's self-titled debut album was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Recording Package at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, making him the first artist to be nominated as both a musician and creative director for the same album.
At 16, Crossan started to make electronic songs using Ableton Live, and uploaded them to SoundCloud the following year under the alias Mura Masa, taken from Japanese swordsmith Muramasa Sengo. He adopted the alias as he grew up with Japanese anime and Nintendo games, which led to his interest in the myth of Muramasa.
Now three albums in, Mura Musa has given us Demon Time. Stream it along with some recent favourites below. A perfect way to get into the weekend, it's Mura Musa with the return of the Friday Feature! Seeya next week!
