Oh mid 2018, that was the last time I featured Childish Gambino for a Sunday Spotlight. Life was chilled, we could go the movies, not social distance and get up close and personal whilst seeing Childish Gambino in concert. Live, not some Instagram story gig.
However one thing we are still waiting on from Donald Glover since May 2018 is Atlanta season three. So that is apparently coming in 2021! Yes that is right, 2021. Although good news is their will be two seasons, although with the third season, it's also been renewed for a fourth.
3.15.20 is the fourth studio album which surprisingly appeared online, then was deleted and then reappeared for an offical release of March 22nd 2020. As far as years go 2020 is weird, so releasing an album, deleting and then releasing is far from the most weird thing of 2020 thus far.
So the album features a few guests, whilst also getting critics excited. Glover also gave life to Simba for the 2019 Disney remake.
Childish Gambino is the kind of artist I am happy to feature every two years as his style continues to evolve whilst he puts himself into so many other projects.
Guava Island was also one of my favourite projects Glover has worked on over the past two years. Featuring his monster smash This is America and the brilliant Summertime Magic.
Until next week...
